Link-blogging, etc.

For the Secret Diary fans:

Real identify of Belle

That was a surprise, for sure.

Um, been a bit out of sorts since my sis moved out in late August; was browsing apartments on Craigslist, found one up her alley, and within five days she was gone. She was the sister I was the closest to and I didn't see her for over a month though she lives close (she doesn't have a car, school/work takes up time, so). And school has started again, and then my insomnia came back, and my work and school schedules don't create a lot of time for therapy (on a waiting list)...

I can't watch HIMYM live so it has collected on my HD (I know what happens, just not particulars). When you're 7 eps behind, it can be hard to find the time to get caught up (or the motivation). I'm thinking Christmas, maybe =| House is rather cool this season, though (besides the Chase drama. But, hey, House and Wilson are being all Odd Coupley =D, and Lucas just came back. Thought the premiere was superb.)

Liking V, even if Tudyk's character isn't a good guy (so far). Love Elizabeth Mitchell, but that's a given. Gonna suck when it goes off the air for 3-4 (?) months. Reminds me of LOST's ill-conceived third season break. To do that to a new show? Oh, ABC. Least you have some awesome comedies.

But, anyway! Any other crazies out there who have adopted Windows 7? Pre-ordered in July for less than half the price, installed it and I am so very, very glad to be rid of Vista. It even, somehow, fixed my slow XP partition (no proof of this beyond timing, but that's enough for me. Haven't actually used my XP partition in a while, though...) Boots up so much quicker, and the slideshow desktop feature just is so very nice. =) For a few days, seemed like my poor, ancient All-in-One A940 would be unsupported, and as the scanner is the only one I own that actually does a decent job of scanning documents, the disappointment was major. But, works now :) (tiny joys)

Doctor Who special tonight I actually want to watch; second before the end, right? I don't know if I'll check out Tennant's new NBC show if it gets picked up; with the way networks competitively overload nights (looking at you, Thursday ::cries a tear for Fringe::), it'll be opposite something I love.

Damn, I wish LOST S5 was out (three weeks) and the weekend was longer. But who doesn't want the latter?

Video Game Geekery
Edit: damn rapid posting! Hit enter and then =p

Has everyone with a DS heard of Scribblenauts? I really hope so, 'cause it's awesome.

Now, I normally never pre-order games or go anywhere before my morning classes (attempt to squeeze as much sleep in as possible), but Gamestop had this wicked cool pre-order bonus: Scribble Hat!

See, same as the main character =D

This and my wicked awesome Squall action figure my bro gave me in the luckiest gaming-related find possible (former apartment holder left it there and moved to Jersey - score!), just make my video-game loving heart smile.

See, he has a real Griever pendant! Have the box as well with his extra hand, but it's Squall, he needs to breathe. Locke is there 'cause I couldn't tell him to leave without getting a knife in the back, so. ;) Cassandra's spider ...even I'm not sure why.

I originally was just buying it with hat more for the resale value than anything, but dear god, the geek in me is freaking out - I want to wear this thing (not in public, but probably at Halloween :D ). I haven't liked a pre-order this much since Wind Waker's ridiculously cool pocket watch (lasted 2 years and I think my brother has it buried some where, but it was so very AWESOME). Way better than the feather pen stylus I got (and lost - it was clear, for god's sake) from Club Nintendo for Phantom Hourglass (US Club Nintendo kinda sucks).

Anyway, though I should be playing Persona 4, I can't help be in love with this game (tons of levels, ability to summon a Rick Roll and Keyboard Cat, as well as have God fight zombies and become a Zombie!God). Seriously, if you have as DS, you need this game.

ETC.
School's started once again and I'm having sleep issues, so sorry about the lack of posting. Couldn't change my class schedule (tried, got on a waiting list - no dice) so my work schedule is all screwed up now =/ Last week it was school for an hour, work for hour-and-a-half, back to class, then work again; not fun. I work on campus, but split-shifts like that throw me some. At least my books were cheap this semester (profs were fine with using older editions - saved $150!)

What I did on my summer vacation: worked, didn't go to the beach, and practiced my Japanese writings skills by writing HIMYM fan fiction in Wordpad/OpenOffice in that language. For a while there I'd been captioning my fan art in Japanese anyway, so it's a bit of a natural extension. Makes it a good deal harder to be "caught" at it, too >_> I may not actually write/draw much smut (borderline stuff, mostly), I still get all anxious about discovery, so. Issues, have some if you please ;)

It's rather fun practice as well =) Haven't actually written down fan works in a long while (last was back in my Niles/Daphne days, actually), so it's a return to something I really enjoyed, though without being a teenager any longer ::shudders:: which makes everything better.

For my Bio lab (need to take some Bio and Chem for grad school program admittance), we're taking care of Milkweed bugs. Not sure if mine is female or male; thought it was a girl yesterday, got home, thought it a boy, now I'm not sure. Might be too immature, though I did get one of the larger ones. Olive or Oliver. ::shrugs::

Anyway, know what I love about Glee (besides all the characters except Terri)? Half the songs they perform I haven't listened to, 'cause they're not in my usual musical purview (big indie rock fan here), but their versions are so fantastic, I don't care. It's such an awesome show. I really like Rachel, though she tries way too hard, and who can't ♥ Will (AV Club's right: he's a saint). I can barely believe he sang "Gold Digger" last ep, too; the singers/actors on this show are fantastic =D That and Rachel's "Take A Bow" - new favorites.

Bones is next week, which will be awesome, though it seems as thought the amnesia plot is being dealt with real fast, huh? Considering the response to it and the AU finale, guess that's good. As long as B&B are being cute together (and Hodgins and Angela get back together, 'cause they just have to!), I'm good.

Hey, I bet a bunch a people watch Mad Men here (or they should). Noticed that two fellowship squints have been on it recently? Mr. Nigel-Murray is the new Brit secretary (PA) and the annoyingly chipper Daisy is Peggy's (♥) new roommate . That's two kinds of awesome right there.

Man, I'm really never going to change my layout, am I? (-_-;;) Love Ten II and Rose, but, really... Just don't really want a default layout, like to mess with it, but I always get distracted.

It's gotten cold recently; like, the second school started - BOOM - it's fall. Buzzkill there. Strange, strange. We weren't using the AC this summer, so in a way it's a relief, but at the same time, a few more 80 degree days would have been nice.

Thus ends my homework avoidance.

A good deal of you have seen her in "The Guild", right? 'Cause you just have to watch it, gamer or not. Still haven't seen her in the Dollhouse "Epilogue" special ep, but I have seen this:

<lj-embed id="10" />

When does The Guild's third season start?! :D Love her little embarrassed face at the end. Ah, she's my newest girl-crush - that red hair　and those wide, green eyes! The whole series makes me want to give an MMO a try...

Haruhi Suzumiya no Yuutsu S2

Man, I should really change my layout, huh? (-_-;;)

Great news for anyone who still cares about Haruhi Suzumiya S2:

Endless Eight is no longer endless! Thank the gods!

Seriously, I was soo excited for the new season of this show, I thought the first season was so great, so original, so lovingly sci-fi :D And then, two episodes in, they pull this crap. I don't care that there are now a full eight episodes of the loop, or that it now ends in the eighth month. This was a horrible idea, and I join the legions of fans royally pissed off about it. Thankfully, I haven't sat through them all looking for the tiny tweaks to the loop and only yelled at Kyon to effing do something, anything, a few times by the third EE ep (that's when I stopped watching them in full; have been depending on the internet to keep me informed since). I hope the end of the season is good at least.

But hey, Hetalia's second season is in full swing and crazy as usual - Santa!Finland xD - so I've got that, and maybe I'll resume watching FMA since they're getting to some of the good parts the first series ignored/weren't able to animate. Meant to check-out Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 and finish Ashes to Ashes and Being Human, too. Ponyo is coming out in the US soon, and hey, the first East of Eden movie will be out in November, right, so there's that to look forward to as well.

Been out of the anime world for a while, need to reacquaint myself with it :) Gonna go look for the sub for the newest Hellsing OVA (VI) :D

I hated FF X (retroactively mostly)
Don't kill Tidus! (But really, please do =3) Really hated Blitzball in that game and the horrible job with the laughing sequence between him and Yuna on the boat (god, that was hard to defend at the time). What I love is VIII ♥♥♥♥♥ and IV :)

Game by the Hsu and Chan artist from EGM; he's awesome, love his blog posts and the comics he put up. And now that EGM is out of publisher's limbo, maybe he'll be back in the magazine (or not. Still unclear if the mag is completely out of business, just know I got stiffed on the rest of my subscription when it first went under.) Hadn't been to his blog recently, as I've deserted my bloglines account (mostly 'cause of the reformat of my Vista partition), but been visiting the 1UP RPG blog for news on Dragon Quest IX's launch in Japan. Trying to figure out which game to play next, besides Scribblenauts and the new Professor Layton. That Shin Megami Tensei DS game might be it, I'm thinking.

LOST Comic Con! Oh, the delicious tidbits released :D Those alt-universe (?) videos with Hurley and Kate, and Emerson's Hurley audition XD, great! That memorial video was a bit wrenching (Charle! D: - couldn't help tearing up there, though rewatching S3, I didn't like him all that much, not till the end. It was his Locke-dislike; you dis Locke, you're on my not-from-Jacob list.) Damon and Carlton's panel (DarkUFO) and Doc Jenson's Totally LOST videos are keeping me informed and entertained and generally spoiler-free, since Darlton is pretty good at that sort of thing (I mean, Fork in the Outlet? and The Donkey Wheel an actual wheel? and Faraday ;_;) And I thought E3 or the Tokyo Game Show would be the place to go to for geek fun...

Dollhouse casting news :D Can't wait to see "Epitaph One" when the first season releases Tuesday. Would like to rewatch from episode 6 on, actually, which makes me feel a bit bad (though Ep 2 rocks), but c'mon, those who've watched know what I'm talking about =|

Finally, saw Hitchcock's Rope last night for the first time (loves me some Hitchcock; Rear Window, one of my absolute favorites). God, what a fantastic movie. The seemingly all-in-one-take editing, the story - blood-curdling, that Brandon, his reasoning - the acting (the Stewart!). Really should have seen it sooner. Would recommend it to one and all.

Doing this from my tablet 'cause my wrist prefers it. Really should have tried this sooner.

Anyway. Auctioneering is distracting and time-consuming, I'll tell ya. I have so many boxes right now =/ Least the post office is close. Really should try. out their pick-up service one of these days.

Work is good, helping one of my bosses with her tenure preparations. Thinking about beach plans for August, heard about some good deals (though, frankly, I hate the bench but it's a family thing, so...)

Have watched Days 1-3 of TW CoE and have attempted to avoid spoilers, considering the Internet has apparently exploded or something in response to it. (Thus, have avoided LJ like woah.) Have an idea or two about what happened due to icons seen and too frequent visit toontd and io9, though.

Hmm, NPH for the Emmys host rocks, go Michael Emerson!! and Doctor Horrible ♥ But FotC's Jemaine nominated but not Bret =O I love Jemaine, but they're a pair, you can't split 'em up! Elizabeth Mitchell's Juliet deserved a damn nomination, too >=( (as did Jenna Fischer, really. Pam was great this year.)

If the voice cast of Futurama actually changes, god, the miscarriage of justice there D: Leela is not Leela without Katey SagalNor Fry without Billy West. And Bender!? You can't replace him, damn it! I was so excited for its return, don't screw it up now, Powers that Be.

Boy, my handwriting on this thing is not great (-_-;;)

For the Buffy fans

Man, the Opera browser seems a little unstable, maybe I should give Safari a try...

If you like Whedon, Buffy and vampire slash (hell, even if you don't like that, read it - the art's beautiful and the writing is quirky fun, plus lots of cameos from the TV series) check out this funky 3-page comic on Dark Horse's site: The funny-sexy awaits you

I followed the Buffy comic for a bit after I finished the TV series - have the first two graphic novels - but haven't bought the third. Occasionally I'll hear a rumble or something about what's going on, but like the DW comics, I don't follow them much. Though the Buffy comics at least have Whedon and writer-support on some of the plotlines, thankfully, and that first graphic novel was awesome :D (see: awesome picture of awesome)

Hey, anybody else watching Nurse Jackie? Edie Falco was great on 30 Rock (and The Sopranos, of course) and she doesn't disappoint in this series either; I'm just really loving it . True Blood has been absolutely awesome so far, too, - Baby-Vamp!Jessica is so cool to watch (and sweet with Hoyt) and Jason is bearable at last! And Eric's haircut - thank god, I really didn't like it before.

Real life stuff: work's okay, since I finally got paid (accounting error delayed it for six weeks >=( ), and I have a love-hate relationship going with microfiche/film. =\ I'm thinking that's pretty common. My sleep schedule is weird again and my left ear is plugged up currently, so back to the ear drops it seems. And it has at last stopped raining. Three whole sunny/non-wet days we got in the entirety of June. It's nice not to have to bring an umbrella with me all the time now.

Anyway, hope everyone had a great 4th of July whether you are American or not =) Mine was quiet, which is really all I could ask for in a house as full as mine

Edit: what the hell is greased lightbox doing? Hope this fixed it.
For fans of NPH, musicals and cartoons

NPH on Batman: The Brave and the Bold

I don't know about you, but I'm going to be rooting for the Music Meister :D

Weird premise, I suppose, but it's TV, and aren't they trying to make a Spiderman musical right now, anyway? Truthfully, while I was a big fan of Batman the Animated Series some years ago - didn't miss an ep or special (there were specials, right?) - I've never seen this one nor much of Batman Beyond. I'm sure they're a lot of fun, they couldn't have lasted this long otherwise - kids and comics fans being rather a fickle bunch, I believe (see: One Piece's lack of success, not just from the relentless editing, either). I was big into the 90s X-Men cartoon (who wasn't?) and rewatched it around 2003, and then got into the comics and X-Men Evolution (X-Men 2 affected me somewhat intensly) of all things (watching mutants in high school is entertaining, I guess). The canon pairings were to my liking (of course I shipped), though I also slashed Nightcrawler and Cyclops, 'cause Nightcrawler rules and I like Cyclops a great deal, though I know he is considered so very, very lame. (-_-;;) Is he any better in X-Men: Origins, I wonder. Liked the whole Phoenix saga in the comics especially (which was among one of the reasons X-3 was such a disappointment; that, and killing Cylcops off so early =p)

Anyway, since I stopped reading the comics, I'd heard about the new launch of the Wolverine AU cartoon, where Xavier's school is blown to kingdom come and only Wolverine and Storm are left to head it (I think Kitty Pride is mixed up in it also). The trailer I saw for it looked fantastic, very well animated, exciting, etc., but I still haven't watched it. SInce I'm not all that in to Wolverine - he's cool and all, but I already read his origin story, don't need to see it as well ('course, I'll probably catch Origins when it comes on cable next year...) - don't know if I will anytime soon ::shrugs:: Of course, is someone awesome guest stars on it... ;)

Hmm, digressed a bit there. I'm gonna have to download that music ep for sure. I assume he's done voicework before I'm unaware of, which is a bit surprising to me, considering how excited I got when I found out Kingdom Hearts' Squall was voiced by David Boreanaz =D (only the first KH, unfortunately). It'll be great, of course, so it looks like I've got this and my beloved Futurama to look forward to in the world of animation over the next year =)

"Not like old, predictable, dull-as-dishwater Leela. " "Hello? New boots!"

Futurama is back!

Oh, I love this show, only wish I had supported it more when it was on the air (I fell in love with it, like so many others, though the DVDs). Since the movies were fine but not great (though the first was pretty awesome) and the fourth's ending rushed, I'll be glad to watch the crew's further adventures. Groening and some of the writers did a few interviews after the last movie's release, so they've got some good ideas about where to go next.

Gonna be twice now fans (and their DVD-purchasing power) has worked with a cable network to bring a network show back from the dead. Family Guy can be funny at times ("420" this year was very funny, and NPH and Josh Radnor did a pretty funny cameo, too) but Futurama wins by a wide, wide, really just huge margin. =D Here's hoping that they shall not be boned again ;)

Awake for now

I tend to disappear a bit in the summer, so fair warning -_-;; Too bad DW isn't on, but hey, at least TW has a date now (but man, July 20th?? Too long a wait considering we don't have any DW to obsess over for another, what, six months? Is it Christmas or November for the next one?)

Last weekend my brother - home from Philly for my sis's birthday - ripped up our living room carpet, which we wanted to do, mind you, but we still have carpet tacks to remove and wood to clean. We've moved all the furniture around, rounded up the ridiculously long internet cable going into our modem and I finally started going through my very large manga library (about half of which is lodged in bookcases and cupboards in that room).

Back when I got into manga/anime in 2001 or thereabouts, I swore off pretty much all American media (excluding The X-Files, interestingly enough), and once manga started to be frequently translated and released over here, I acquired a lot. I've rather an eclectic library, I think. I started with the basics of Sailor Moon and Akira, 'cause that's what was out at the time and I'd seen the latter's movie. But then I've got GTO, Battle Royale, Rurouni Kenshin and...Marmalade Boy (which I quite enjoyed). MPD Psycho only got licensed a couple years ago, but I'd been reading it for years, and now I really only buy untranslated manga, so I never picked up more than a volume. (Watched a bit of the live-action drama for it a few years back; think I liked seeing flowers growing out of living brains on paper more than on film.) I've got Card Captor ('cause it's Clamp) and Saikano, not to mention Angel Sanctuary, which is not adored enough, really (is it the incest? It's probably the incest.) I enjoyed them all, but besides having a lot of shojo series, playing the numbers game, I probably have about an equal number of seinen and shonen books (Ranma is exceedingly long, after all). ::shrugs:: So, I'm gonna try to do something with them, 'cause they're just sitting around here.

Oh, I've decided to start watching LOST from the moment of Benry's first appearance =D While I did think the first ep of S2 was fabulous 'cause of Desmond and Mama Cass ;), I don't have all that much of an interest in watching the Tailies struggle and inevitably lose against the Island's wishes, seeing as how they are all gone at this point. Excepting Bernard, of course. Anyway, Emerson rocks. Just watched him as Henry the Balloonist in "One of Them"; he plays Sayid sooo well. Was prepared to be half-killed in order for the plan to succeed; gotta love 'im and his perseverance. And look, he begins pretty much covered in blood, and I'm betting that's the way it'll end, if someone like him can ever really be killed, anyway.

Nice to see Charlie again and watch Sawyer being all douchey to Jack (and pretty much everyone, actually; I'd forgotten about how much he tried to be dislikeable). But it's gonna be a bit till Drunken-Sailor!Desmond appears, which saddens me, but Benry! &hearts

HIMYM Finale, bit o' TV stuff

I really seem to love Drunk-Super-Canadian!Robin. I want to see more of her XD If possible, with Sleepy-Drunk!Barney.

I've rewatched the hospital scene too many times to count, 'cause it's hilarious. Though it's been said they're trying to out-Mosby each other (god, Ted is the butt of so many jokes: the correcter, Ted-ing out, don't be a Ted, and now the Mosby XD I love it), Barney's not, he's trying to get her to consider him as a datable guy, which is a bit of a tall order still. I mean, the whole "He's Barney..." thing is still rather in effect, as he hasn't changed; from her - and pretty much everyone's - point of view, he's still the juvenile womanizer someone would have to be crazy to consider dating. He needs to prove he's actually serious about her, about monogamy; if he's as clingy as Lily suggested, and Robin doesn't freak-out too much, there's a chance there. The little "trouble" speech was adorable and the look he gave her before he leaped, like he will really try for her. \

It's a shame her feelings weren't developed this season, but their chemistry together was repeatedly demonstrated, so there's that. Next season would therefore have to be how they "sort out" their feelings, what they want to have together. I figure being such close friends and having slept together without resolution (she did kick him out awfully quick and refused to speak of it, shame and fear for the effect on her relationship with her other friends, I think; plus, it was Barney [see: Lily's initial reaction, but then the "Was it amazing?" quip]), there's gotta be something there. How could she not consider it occasionally, but realize the futility of it, seeing as how he is? Beyond his noticeable freak-outs whenever she got together with a dude this season (barring Stan, since Barney and Marshall were in love with him, too), he's done some very nice things for her, but not voiced anything romantically. Barney's a strange guy she thinks is awesome, but a romantic relationship with him has got to have been one of the most outlandish things to think of, based on his record.

(I feel like I'm coming off as someone with real doubts about their chances, while the actual truth is if they don't wind up together I'm going to throw a fit. ::is completely serious:: My real complaint about the ep is that when I saw him ostensibly be relieved of his feelings, I literally [as Ted would say, not Robin] felt sick to my stomach, wanted to stop watching the ep, even the show 0_o 'Cause I actually thought it possible they would abandon this plotline, allowing Barney to be the creepy womanizer who could never be with a woman for longer than a night for the remainder of the show. Which is absolutely ridiculous if thought of logically, but when has logic ever factored all that strongly in fandom? ;) This storyline has such a ridiculous amount of potential, and they are so good together, it's laughable to think that they would drop it. I do definitely watch this show for them now, though; I love Marshall and Lily, but they're not my focus. Ted is Ted, though Prof Ted is cool and incredibly sensible.)

I mean, how does one react to hearing something like "The suit is Robin" and its meaning? Robin's commitment-shy to begin with, and Barney is her equal in that regard (well, in the beginning he wasn't); how do you start, how do you form a relationship with their baggage? Robin's only had one long-term relationship, and that took a year to begin and another to end, plus the whole "I love you" thing, so she's a hard sell from the start. And Barney as the paramour? I totally get her reluctance, nor think she was being a bit mean or insensitive; she was being Robin and trying not to hurt him (or herself, if you think about it). Obviously it wouldn't have worked even if Lily had kept the beans form Barney, as he couldn't have failed to notice Robin's presumptive lack of awkwardness around him later on, plus I bet those feelings would attack him as soon as he saw her with another guy. I like to think Lily knew this, 'cause she's awesome (she was hilarious in this ep, but she's Lily ♥, so that's to be expected), and her encouragement of the Mosby fed into her plans for the couple =D You know she's got ideas ♥♥♥

I think during the summer they are going to go back and forth, back and forth, sleep together at some point, but continue to be confused about how to come together. Robin will be looking at him differently, watching him more intensely. And Lily will work her magic on them =D

Anyway, I'd felt Robin had been maligned a bit too much as I wandered through reaction posts (not everywhere), and I wanted to defend my girl =)

Hmm, that was long. Oh, I still haven't rewatched the finale of LOST. Have to before it comes off On-Demand, but it's so painful to watch... I haven't watched the second DW special at all, because I just can't muster the interest. I hear the fanboy is funny, but I'm starting to feel like I did after Doomsday, with the need to coax myself into caring. Maybe that was just my dislike of Martha, though; emo!Doctor, in hindsight, was pretty entertaining, what with his Rose-deprivation producing suicidal impulses (ooh, entertaining sounds pretty terrible there, doesn't it? Intriguing to watch, then.) Without Rose I'm all "Eh. What else is on/around to obsess about? Oh look, HIMYM." The third special sounds interesting, though, with the one casting spoiler I've stumbled upon. But that's in November, I think? Or Christmas? Apparently Tennant's last ep is crazy or something 'cause new spoilers appear each week ::sigh:: So difficult to avoid/resist them all...

Well,Torchwood starts their week-long shortened third season in what, a month or so? But it's been neutered, right? ::sighs, will miss the crack:: Still, Gwen.

And Glee is awesome =) And damn it all, Heroes is opposite House which is opposite HIMYM next year and LOST may switch nights again >=( Do Not Move LOST again! 10 pm is too late for it when you have to get up early! Also, ratings/ad revenue! Just pair it with Penny's Flash Forward on Wednesdays or something. C'mon! ::feels childish, but still!:: I need a DVR bad (-_-;)

Finales, fall TV, partition trouble

Ever since I heard about the twist in Fringe's finale, I've wanted to watch it.

How can I ignore an Abrams' show with alternate realities? It's what all us Juliet, Daniel and Locke fans are hoping for (I guess it's technically a reset...) Sayid as well, I guess. Man, looking at that list, there's no way they'd bring back everyone, is there? It's just not LOST's way =( Me personally, I'd just settle for the real Locke. As an aside, I  have two LOST action figures (Locke and Charlie), and now they're both dead ;_;

AUs have always been a favorite of mine, with whatever fandom I'm involved in. That's why I adored the Bones finale. I know there's a massive hate-on directed towards the finale, which, yeah, didn't really feel like a finale, but I liked it. It was fun, Sweets sang a song that I want to use for my Windows start-up music (I think XP allows you to have a long opening; Vista gives you 10 seconds or so), had cute AU Booth & Brennan interaction, Zach ♥, meta stuff, and boring Motley Crue, but otherwise it was just a cool episode.

When it was revealed that the Hodgins's narration was actually Brennan writing, I was so happy. I had figured it was all in Booth's head, but really, that wouldn't have furthered the story much, we already know he's in love with her, so here's confirmation of her awareness of her love for him. If he saw any of the episode in his head that we did, wouldn't he have recognized Brennan from the dream? I guess her assertion that it wasn't real would lead him not to believe any of it, and besides their affection for one another and Zach as her assistant, nothing really lined up with their characterizations, so that wouldn't really help. He probably saw something, but it won't factor in much. Anyway.

Should I be more upset about the amnesia? What's the point? It will last probably six episodes; I can't imagine it being much longer than that, especially as she'll need a new partner now. Hoping he's taken care of by her, that'd be sweet. Like everyone is saying, now the onus is on Brennan to express her love for him in little, maybe more obvious ways, like he has done the last two-and-a-half seasons or so. Should be fun. Wonder if we'll eventually see more of Zach as well, though rotating-assistants is a fun game to play.

Hmm, I actually hadn't planned on waxing poetically about Bones, go figure. Anyway, Fox's fall schedule annoys me. I wanna watch Glee, but it's opposite LOST (not till Jan, thankfully); wanna watch Fringe, but it's opposite The Office and 30 Rock (the former's last season rocked something hard and how can I miss Jack and Liz?); House is opposite HIMYM, though HIMYM loses out there just 'cause House is an hour and more annoying to catch online due to length. I guess I should be thankful Dollhouse hasn't moved after all, regardless of what that will mean for it's chances at acquiring new viewers. (-_-) Gonna be using hulu and torrents a lot next year.

Well, that's why I'm not watching the HIMYM finale live tonight; I've seen a total of two episodes live this season ("Benefits" and "Meet the Stinsons"), and the former was talked over. I've gotten so used to watching it online, so what's the point of changing it now? I'm definitely not going to miss the next season of House, either, considering what happened in the finale. It's like with Doctor Who to me now, since I've only ever watched that using my computer. LOST will forever be a live show for me, however, 'cause it's LOST, dude.

Also, I think my Vista partition may be dying. I only reinstalled my tablet driver, 'cause my tablet is wonky and seems to favor that partition, and now it doesn't want to start except in safe mode. Word of advice: when creating a dual-boot system, pick and stick to a favorite OS and create a third partition for sharing files between the two. I now have near identical installations among the two 'cause I kept switching between them based on what was working when. It's convenient and it's not. =/ It's nice to have a backup to rely on when one breaks down (and it's not completely effed as I can access Vista's files), plus I need the Vista partition for warranty purposes, but it's still a hassle. Especially the driver searches for both (ugh). Well, XP perfectly plays MKV files, a task Vista has never been able to do, so at least I have stuff to watch while I do research on my new problem.

LOST S5 Finale - The Incident Parts I & II

Let's jump right in:

Okay, I spend two hours on ONTD last night commiserating with my fellow LOST fans (and waiting for awesome gifs [see: below]. I haven't been this upset by a finale since DW, and before DW who knows how long it had been (wait, was Buffy S5; have a thing for sci-fi). Juliet's death (?) x2 was horrific, cruel, and I would really like her to get a second chance just because her life totally sucked (barring the 3 years with Sawyer). I don't know if we'll get that, seeing as how it was a very dramatic death, she was a hero there, but damn it - I want to watch the finale again, but seeing her death (?) scenes is just too much. Saw a gif of it and nearly started bawling.

Anyway, Bernard, Rose and Vincent were awesome, and I hope if there's a reset or the 70s Islanders are thrown into the present, those 3 (Walt's gone after all, so keep the dog) are able to remain happily in their retirement home =D Totally have the right idea - stay the hell away from the Islanders/Hostiles/Dharma people. If Juliet had just stayed... Some people are saying she was pregnant as well, with a couple instances of her clutching her stomach; if true, this makes her death (?) even worse. I am beginning to think that if the bomb worked in bringing them back to the present, she won't come, a la Charlotte. ;_;

I'm rather conflicted on Jacob and Esau/Not!Locke/Anti-Jacob/Guy-in-black-speaking-with-Jacob-as-the-Black-Rock-comes-a-sailin'-in. Esau cruelly used Locke to get his revenge (Locke and Juliet have both earned worst-lives-in-LOST awards), but allowed for the awesome bitchy banter between Locke and Ben this season; but that wasn't really Locke, so. And, now TWO of my favorite characters are dead (Daniel being the other). If Locke's around next season, it's all Sylar-as-Nathan in Heroes then, too, so it's not the same =(

I thought Jacob saw the humans sorta as his playthings; he wants to observe how they react for his enjoyment, knowing the eventual outcome; some are better people for it, but all that hassle... Esau makes a point about not bringing humans to the Island; because, while some very good redemption stories are told, a hell of a lot of people seem to die on the Island, way more than are redeemed, considering half of 815 bought it. And Jacob apparently doesn't mind killing babies (Alex), which is a very big negative in his column.

If they're going the biblical route and the two are brothers, and one serves the other (Esau may be Smokey, after all, and he seems to serve Jacob, right?), Esau is chafing at not ruling the Island with seemingly no way to change that, till Ben and Locke came around. Biblical Jacob scammed his brother, so maybe he has a right to be angry, if the same is going down here (man, do I hate reading Old Testament stuff). So it could just be their personal disagreement. But, they could be going all Jacob=God, Esau=Satan, Ben=Judas (though, seriously, Benry has had a tough life, Jacob, you could have given him a little something to prevent all the evil; unless, he needed him to kill him, like Jesus needed Judas to betray him and lead to the resurrection, 'cause, duh, they're gonna resurrect Jacob, that's one thing I'm sure of). Or, they could each be individual gods of equal power, unable to effectively hurt the other, so they need a third non-deity to do their bidding. Greek gods loved interfering in the humans' lives, pitting one against the other, forming sides, helping/hurting their half-human children, etc. With all the Egyptian imagery, could be that. Oh, and Sobek seems to be the statue (wikipedia is so useful).

Um, weak sauce with Jack's reason for the reset. This is the one show where I don't crazy ship ('cept Desmond/Penny) so I really didn't want to hear that as his reason; and then Juliet decides that's her reason as well =/ Man, that quadrangle/triangle next year is gonna be a fucking pain. I bet everyone dies at the end or the pairing that is left is due to death, not choice, which leads those two to break up, too, so no one wins. ::sigh:: But there will be more Desmond (and Penny), so that should help counterbalance the murderous/depressive Sawyer that is bound to be there as well.

Anyway, these rule (they work when you click on them but seem to not be loading in my preview window - maybe 'casue they're too big? They are awesome, though):

God, I was laughing like crazy; I have been waiting for this to happen for five years and it was magnificent.

XD XD XD I don't even loathe Jack like most of the fandom; I dislike him a lot of the time, but I can be somewhat sympathetic towards him, too (also, he is hot; not as hot as Jacob or Sawyer, but he can get a bit of a puppy face at times). Oh, James, that was a low blow, but damn, it was funny.

XD (Okay, that's the sadist in me; besides, he's fine, obviously.)

Well, I think I'll be able to sleep tonight. Y'know, I got around 3 hours of sleep 'cause I was so worked up, woke up early, mind going crazy; god, I got more rest during finals week both semesters this year =/ Damn you and love you, LOST (and sooo damn you for that creepy white endtitle with no effing indication of what comes next). >=(

Oh, and to sign off with a non sequitur, my new mail notification in Windows Live Mail is NPH yelling about the unicorn in the road in Harold & Kumar 2 xD

House S5 finale

It's hot, it's cold, it's rainy, it's windy...it's inconsistent =/

Shit! It actually was a hallucination! The detox was waaay too short and lacking fallout, I know, but the Huddy stuff being part of the fake-out, didn't think they'd really take that route. I know before Cuddy and House got together the idea was floating around that the two of them together was a hallucination as well, but with the crazy amount of buildup the show had put out - man, that media onslaught was crazy - I figured they were just gonna go the Huddy way for a bit. Why else would they be pushing towards it all season? To enrage a good portion of their audience, probably (not me, but whatever), and misdirect. Mission accomplished there (it actually irks me to write that phrase, for obvious reasons). <_<

Man, did any of this episode actually happen? Was the patient a metaphor for House? I'm going to rewatch last ep again to see the ending (and creepy Hallucination!Amber), see the divergence. Definitely gotta rewatch this one as well. Did he actually talk to Wilson about sleeping with Cuddy, but it was all a figment of his imagination that the faithful oncologist didn't realize? And did Wilson and Cuddy have that interchange about the billing, which was actually just about Cuddy being upset at House for his cruel words, not for sleeping with him? Did Carl Reiner's sweet old man actually exist? Oh man, oh man =D

So he's gone to detox in a psychiatric hospital, right, 'cause with the ability to create a whole alternate reality (stretching a bit, but he did create an entirely different 24-48 hours complete with Ghost!Fellows at the end; hey, Ghost!Kutner, nice to see you!), those are some powerful Vikodin toxicity effects. The end was so sad, with Wilson taking all his personal effects, in front of that scary looking building. All dark and depressing, which contrasted quite nicely with the bright and beautiful wedding between Cameron and Chase and their happiness (finally; that sperm thing was annoying).

Will the hallucinations be gone by next season, then? Must be, if he'll be able to practice again. On methadone or nothing, I wonder. Going into this ep, with the promos, I was expecting the twist to be Cuddy firing him, was glad when she did, he was such a jerk; and then it turns out to be totally different. I liked it, 'cause I don't really like House/Cuddy, though his desire for some sort of romantic (?) connection with her, was sorta sweet, his mind creating a pleasant (?) dream for him, only he wasn't asleep. Which is absolutely terrifying, really; yeah, the patient must have been a metaphor.

Cool, thought-provoking episode. Now, bring on LOST and its purported game-changing finale (how much more can it actually change things, I wonder).

Ah, to have a Tivo right now would be great. Maybe Fox will move House to a different night again so I don't miss HIMYM every week ::sigh::

Summer Break has begun and TV

It has been raining for three days straight, though it's finally starting to taper off; reminds me of a couple years ago when the entire month of April (or May) was cloudy and depressing. Don't even really need sun, just no more rain, please. Guess I'm lucky, though; my poor bro in Philly has a leaky basement and totally incompetent contractors.

I don't really care about House and Cuddy; this is pretty much the only show where the slash has a larger hold on me than the het (Heroes is almost canonically slashy, so). Or maybe I just believe H&W's relationship more. And wouldn't Wilson have known him better than Cuddy, for detox? Didn't he detox with Wilson before? Moving the Huddy plot forward, I guess. Least it looks like she is fully aware what a relationship with him could lead to (i.e., how damaging it could be); especially 'cause she's got a kid, she needs to be careful. I don't know, maybe he'll change, grow or something - he was with Stacy for a long while, so he must be capable of maintaining a stable relationship that doesn't include Wilson (a saint, truly).

The Cameron thing was really strange, but she and Chase need some drama, no there's half a cup or so =/

Too bad Hallucination!Amber had to go; she was so much fun.

Stella! I still don't know if it's my Sarah Chalke bias or what, but I really liked her; didn't want Ted to move to NJ or anything, but I enjoyed watching her. No matter how funny it was to see The Daily Show's Jason Jones as her ex, I liked her as Ted's main squeeze, so was sad to see her go in "Shelter Island". Is she not a popular character? I've actually only recently gotten deeper into this fandom, so I'm unsure; I don't get why she wouldn't be, though maybe the NJ thing was a factor... ::shrugs:: Figured they were finally going to show the mother this time (he did have the mom's umbrella and all), but they already ruled her out, right? I don't care, I'm just glad to see her again =)

Marshall and his charts warranted the return of the Intervention banner xD

Too many, Barney =P Good thing Robin is so accepting of you. He's finally reached that middle-school-based goal, now go for something life/future-oriented (Robin) ^_^ It's rather refreshing to watch a show that isn't (right?) going to drag the will they/won't they and/or unrequited love thing over years (Frasier, XF, Friends, Bones, a billion other shows). I'm used to waiting, so I'm pleased something really is going to happen (Bones had begun to drive me a bit insane, so this is nice).

I do rather miss watching it live, but I won't watch House online (can't force myself), and House is an hour, so it wins out in timeslot battle =| Think there are two eps of HIMYM left to House's one, but I've watched basically the entire season (save one ep: "Benefits") online, so no point changing it now (ratings are good enough that I needn't feel guilty either; missed a couple Dollhouse eps early on - regret that).

Hey, have the True Blood fans on my flist seen the trailer for season 2? Man, it's beautiful:

<lj-embed id="8" />

I may be switching to Fios (damn Comcast and it's rate hikes!), but want to keep HBO just for this (since FotC is done and all), though Grey Gardens was also very good.

Dollhouse - "Briar Rose"

Right before my last final of the semester, I'm picking up my brother at a stoplight (his last final was finished), and he swung his backpack into the backseat of the car, right, with me in the passenger seat. He didn't quite make it; have had a headache ever since. Made the Drugs and Behavior final all the less fun: nauseous feeling signifies some sort of concussion to me, and since the last two I got were from horses swinging their all-too-heavy heads at me, I'm thankful it was just a backpack this time =/ But hey, school's out :)

Alpha isn't the creator after all, just made Paul believe it so to provide a distraction at least (did he really need Paul?) For most of the episode, I was thinking that "Stephen" seemed an awful lot like Topher, was beginning to think Topher had been imprinted as well. Considering how many people have been, it wouldn't be a surprise (yeah, Paul, at this point the only really real person you know is your FBI woman). Very good performance by Alan, I thought; glad to see him acting in something other than a what, phone commercial, I think.

So Mellie's imprint was to attempt/contemplate suicide-by-bridge if Paul dumped her?

Damn. Echo's imprint I thought was pretty interesting, though when did whoever take the girl and do the scanning? Considering her history, if she were to know, that would cause some problems. Best therapist you could ever have, definitely, and the girl really needed the help, so a bit of positive societal action by the Dollhouse there.

I'm trying to think at the moment who they can kill off next episode that won't get me too upset - LOST - and truthfully, Paul could go (angry at how he treated Mellie). We need Boyd (or I need Boyd), and when poor Victor was slashed and Saunders was threatened I was getting nervous. Adelle is too awesome to die, but doesn't that make it even more likely she'll be Jossed?

Trying to figure out why he made Echo his old girlfriend - some Bonnie and Clyde thing, I think - but I'm realizing it's rather futile to do so. Although, this may explain why she wanted to become a Doll, if she was part of some murderous team (I'd figured it was only one murder, however, so). But then, Alpha and Echo were there at the same time, right, so did the House know they knew each other, or they never did and he's infatuated with her for another reason, and who is that blond woman really.... My head hurts for multiple reasons now =p

But man, with episodes like this, with a show as cool as this, I really want it to be renewed. (Makes me glad I didn't experience the heartbreak of Firefly as it aired; Dollhouse had been treated mildly better, thankfully).

LOST - The Variable

I was almost late for my second final of the day, Politics of Diversity; I registered to the class late, after I dropped Children's Literature (reading 50 books in a semester is just too much, thanks), and have the second section's syllabus so the exam time is different. Probably would have been fine to take it later, same exam questions and all, but at the time, I was running...

But I need to process LOST (thankfully not pre-empted by Obama's speech).

Noo! Daniel! Noo! ;_;

By his mom, too. D: Why did he feel he had to bring a gun?! Haven't you watched Buffy, man? They never help the situation, and you knew your mom was difficult; pushing a gun into her comrades' faces would obviously not help you. I just feel like typing a dozen crying emoticons, it sucks so much. I waited half a season for him to return and he's killed off in his first episode back?! >=( ;_; (bolding them helps)

I was trying to explain to my mom that he was my second? third? favorite character, but I'm not sure that's exactly true. I think it's more that, while they've killed off a lot of characters over the year, his death (I'm not getting my hopes up and using "presumed") is the most affecting to me. I loved Charlie, but he'd died three ways from Sunday by the time he drowned in the looking glass, so at least I was prepared. Sucks, sucks, sucks. Though, if his admittedly crazyish plan works, he might be alive yet.

Now, would the Hydrogen bomb energy neutralize the electromagnetic energy in a way in which they somehow cancel one another out and not kill everyone on the Island? Or is that the point? By destroying everything and everyone there, no plane can crash and no time travel can take place, creating an alternate timeline. Guess it depends on whether he was on the Island with Baby!Miles and co., 'cause they'd be dead all right, but if he was off Island he'd be okay - oh, but then Baby!Ben would die, which reminds me...

As favorite characters go, they'd be Locke, Ben, Sawyer, Desmond with the recent edition of Daniel; he was just such a cute, geeky - "Twitchy" xD oh, Sawyer - character, and the adorable bumbling scientist is always appreciated, or should be, anyway.

But back to alt-timelines. I love 'em, in Heroes and DW they could be really cool - e.g., "Five Years Gone" (Heroes) and "Turn Left" (DW) - but listening to the producers on the podcast and reading the commentary on EW.com and other sites, I'm thinking they're not going that way. It really will be a Whatever Happened, Happened universe for LOST. ::sigh:: I mean, why would Eloise send her son back unless she thought it had to happen this way? And her son with Charles, huh, really was rooting for siblings there, but Daniel and Penny (off-Island other mother) half-siblings is pretty cool (yet more relatives who didn't know each other, shades of less whiny, and a good deal cooler, Jack and Claire [whom I do like]). But Eloise does think there's something unique going on now, and Charles knows it, too; Desmond's role in all this (and S6 probably) is coming closer, so that's something to look forward to. He is ~special~ (and hot). Maybe he'll wear more crazy scarves and blue shirts (or no shirt, that's fine), that'd be quite entertaining.

I keep getting teary, damn it. So Charles did crash the plane and the Island healed the seriously ill Daniel after all; hope his three years in the '70s were enjoyable at least. Man, it's going to be even more depressing if all his work is for nothing. I guess if all Jack, Kate, etc., have to do is explode a bomb, if they can get to it, things'll be okay, probably...those two don't have the best track record for fixing things (2x Ben, leaving the Island, toy plane guy, dying mom). There'll be Ben and Locke next ep, right? I should rewatch "Dead Is Dead", I'd definitely feel better then.

Finally, man, is it hard to watch this week by week; I need the DVDs for this season now.

Hey, my allergies are driving me bonkers. Not only was it 94 or so degrees yesterday (now it's 59 =/ ), I can barely breathe today. I think I'm gonna try that Neti pot thing, maybe that'll help. Only one more final to go, too, so something positive there.

The Office "Broke" and Dollhouse "Haunted"

No LOST this week (though I did watch the special, though I loathe clip shows and there wasn't near enough Island crew screentime), so some different reactions.

At the beginning of the ep, with Pam and Jim at their house, they were so adorable, cute little kiss and jammies :) Sometimes I forgot how much I wanted the two together, and that little moment just did it for me. Jim sabotaging Dwight's attempt to alert Charles was perfect as well. It certainly is gonna be a weird dynamic for Michael and Dwight now, unless, like after "The Coup", it's pretty much forgotten. Very well could be =/

They really had you believe Michael would blow it like he always does. That reply that he could just wait out David Wallace was so very awesome; I enjoy so much the few instances we get to see of Michael's competence. I wish they would have shown TMSPC opening a few more times, though, but I guess that's what Youtube and Hulu are for.

Pam moving up to salesperson is a cool move; her art career may not have worked out, but she deserves to try her best at this - hey, she was a better employee than Ryan. Speaking of, wonder where he'll wind up now, besides invariably close to Kelly, much to Toby's relief xD His blond hair still distracts me, though; I don't not like it, but it just always jars me a bit.

Topher and Sierra as buddies was really fun to watch; I'm guessing this is a friend he's assembled, not one based on anyone he knew, from what Adelle said. Oh, but it was awfully sad to see he did it because it was his birthday =(

No Boyd allowed near Echo also saddens me :( And where exactly was her new handler? I didn't see him once.

It was incredibly disturbing to watch Mellie and Paul in this episode. He was basically raping her, or he was acting as though it were so, even if she gave him permission to pretty much use her in any way he wants, no repercussions. The expression on his face was just so menacing; at least he appeared as appalled at his behavior as the viewer was, trying to rinse away his guilt. Anger at continually being played is driving him a bit battier. Oh, poor November; it looks like she's been so many criminals; Paul wants to save her and all the Dolls, but with her history and the loss of her daughter, I'm not sure she'd be so keen on that...

Creepy, good Doll this week - 'course, a lot of people would like to find out what everyone really thought of them; Margaret making things right at the end was nice. Adelle holding her hand as she was wiped was very touching, too.

Wade is in the next episode! I had no idea he was going to be on this show, too =D I've been avoiding Dollhouse spoilers like the plague, and hope he's not Alpha. I'll admit it'd be kinda weird - and interesting - if the creator of the Dollhouse had become a Doll himself.

My sister texted me after class that NPH hosted with Kelly Ripa this morning; guess Regis is out sick? Or does he take weeks off on occasion? I don't know, but I loved it when Anderson Cooper hosted with her - the famous AI bit was great; does Brian Williams ever do that? I love him, and a trifecta of awesome sub-hosts would be nice. NPH is on Jimmy Fallon tonight, too; I have no idea why, but I'll probably catch it on Hulu tomorrow.

Oh, I started watching Ashes to Ashes after catching a bit of it on BBC America; remember thinking without Sam I wouldn't be interested, though, man, that Gene Hunt is fun to watch. Alex being separated from her daughter - no way she'll want to stay, right? Second season just started; gotta catch up.

Japan and immigrants

Japan Pays Foreign Workers to Go Home

I know Japan is a rather xenophobic society, but really, these people are of Japanese ancestry, this is their homeland, and to try to bribe them to leave so as to "help" the recession over there is nothing but shortsighted. What really gets to me is the fact that they are supposed to never return, nor may their young children. The government actively solicited people of Japanese-ancestry in Brazil to immigrate when they needed workers in areas the citizens of Japan didn't want, and now they're kicking them out after they've made a life in Japan, even though they'll need them later on. Seriously, Japan, what are you thinking?

The article makes some very good points about how shortsighted they're being. This quote really made me a bit angry:

“We should stop letting unskilled laborers into Japan. We should make sure that even the three-K jobs are paid well, and that they are filled by Japanese,” he said. “I do not think that Japan should ever become a multiethnic society.” - Jiro Kawasaki, a former health minister and senior lawmaker of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party

In a global economy, that is not the type of thinking that will lead to good things for a nation. I don't believe for a second that they'll reform those jobs, either.

Michael Emerson is awesome
I really hope all the Benry fans saw him on Jimmy Fallon, but here's the clip showcasing his mad ol' creepy illustrating skills and frightening nursery rhyme reading:

<lj-embed id="7" />

Chills, fantastic, fantastic chills ^o^

ETA: Firefox doesn't much like this embedding, but IE does ::shrugs::

Also, on a final Emerson-loving note, if he does somehow get on True Blood (his wife being a cast member already), he could so easily play a vampire (see: creepy hovering-behind Jack in the funeral parlor scene). It's be wonderful :D

I like Jimmy Fallon well enough, I hope he does well, in his own short, not-very-pale way ;)

TV: HIMYM theory, Heroes, and some LOST

My adviser is never in his office when I need him. They switched advisers on me my first semester; if they hadn't...

Here's what I quite literally was thinking about whilst trying to get to sleep last night: Is it my overly-shippy imagination, or has Barney cut back on the boinking of the easily-confused bimbos? So in the one with his fake family, he probably slept with his fake wife a while back, but not recently; then came the hilarious Karen episodes where he agreed to pass along a favor to Marshall if it was especially good (xD) and wore a nightgown (and lost out on a porno scenario, apparently, but at least he was comfortable); then the fraud with Ted's non-existent project where he slept with the woman he was to fire a while back (and was "engaged" to the fake committee member/kitchen lady); "Murtaugh" he was with Robin all episode, being hilarious and perfect together (I loved Robin's rave outfit, it so very much ruled - her stuffed animal, the ring pop [love 'em], the flasher on her teeth); and then in the latest episode he was just breaking apart with jealousy (after creepily sending PJ some new undies), but sleeping with no one.

The last ep he got laid (on-screenish) in was during his drunken foray into bar management with Ted in "Three Days of Snow" - "Bingo!". I don't know, maybe he's taken Lily's advice from the first episode this season. Maybe Robin will notice? He's presumably not sharing all his conquest stories anymore with her - or anyone - so... Well, either next ep my hypothesis will be blown apart or they'll continue to move their story forward ::hopes for latter:: Or Barney's sex life will be unaddressed in any fashion, leading credence to my theory. So. (-_-)

l was also thinking about school and work before bed; insomnia has to be entertained and all.

You know what I like about Bryan Fuller's Hereos, it's going back to the first season (sensible, since that's when he was first in charge). Especially enjoyable is the fact that the future they worked so hard to prevent in S1 is occurring now, albeit in slightly changed form. Matt has little Matty, Specials are being round up, Mohinder was working for the wrong side, "Nathan" is in an authority position and he's really Sylar. That mean Peter's going to face off with him again in a red/blue lightning duel? :D "Five Years Later" was one of my absolute favorite episodes first season, just behind "Company Man", so a return to it rocks.

Then the socks thing from what, the first episode, with Angela was explained in "1961". Awesome sauce. Those young Company members were great, loved seeing their back story. But god, poor Alice. On another note, Pasdar is rocking the sexy recently, too, isn't he? Since Nathan fled, he's just been getting hotter. And cliche as it was, when he was holding Claire in the air back when they raided the Bennets' house, that shot was just wonderful. Really liked it. Also, loving the casual Bennet - always do - and his interaction with Claire. Well, next ep should be fun.

Did just watch LOST: Daniel!! (in the last ten seconds, but still!) Compared to the Benry and Locke Hour o' Fantasticness last week, there was no way this episode could top it, that was just impossible. But hey - Daniel! Bet he was studying with his mom in Ann Arbor. And this means next ep is Daniel-centric, right? Please? (-_-;;) Oh, and anytime Kate and Roger are in the same scene, I feel queasy. Seriously, Kate, Run in the opposite direction, down that path be monsters.

So, Sawyer's in deep shit, Jack is not convincing Roger of anything, Miles needs some Daddy and Child time, Hurley is always hilarious, and Baby!Benry is missing. Next ep looks awesome! "Freckles" ♥ ::damns two week wait::

Getting long and a bit late, and my phone is beeping, so I'm off.

Unfortunate Dollhouse News

I think Dollhouse just got canceled.

From io9; beware: discussion about guest stars for the 13th episode

If you don't want to know who was in the 13th episode, the important bit here is that the final episode of the season apparently isn't going to air at all. We'll have to wait to watch it on DVD when it comes out =( I hope there's a pretty quick turn-around at least.

I'd read Joss didn't want to do (network? cable would be nicer) TV anymore after this; yet more evidence for why he shouldn't. Fox, you really suck.

LOST - "Dead Is Dead"

Greetings to everyone new, hope you're enjoying your night! How could you not be, though, seeing as how LOST is on :D

Man, Benry episodes do not disappoint. Still have some questions, but I'll start with the awesome.

Interesting how when Benry was still a babe, the Others were rather outdoorsy - excepting the always gorgeous Richard Alpert - must've been Charles's idea. But where was Ellie? I really wanted to see her as well, and maybe a young Daniel? Or maybe that's a bad idea if time-displaced Daniel is around. I think the mention later of his off-Island child (Penny) should indicate that Ellie wasn't his wife/lover; I'm going with the sibling idea, makes the most sense.

Speaking of Charles: man, what a dick. Killing newborn babies? What kinda crazy island would have you kill kids? Richard was obviously quite interested and pleased in wig-wearing-Benry's actions there. (Hey, and there was insistent and tiny Ethan, getting some early on-the-job training.)
I must admit I laughed at the seeming incongruity; his child advocacy just seemed so foreign, though he obviously loved Alex and never tried to kill Aaron or anything, so... Good!Benry is strange - and a bit wonderful - to see; Benry pushing Alex on the swing in Dharmaville was heart-meltingly sweet. He's a bad guy, but a heart is buried in there, certainly.

Am I the only one who thinks there will be more to the Desmond-Penny-Charlie-Benry marina scene? Did Desmond and co. just high-tail it out of there as soon as Benry hit the water? Would make perfect sense - get to a hospital/doctor, fix up Des's wound, disappear. But why would Benry still be sorry? Maybe I'm just being paranoid (or I wanted a tiny bit more there).

I am a huge Locke fan; Smokey!Alex commanding Benry to follow Locke was something so very sweet (on par with Sawyer becoming the on-Island castaway leader instead of Jack). This new-and-improved Locke - my latest theory involves a merging of Jacob and Locke, though Smokey-incarnate also works well, seeing as how Smokey and Locke weren't in the same room - is just wonderful to watch. But I'd like to think Locke is part of the deal, it's not all the Island. He's an Island-enhanced, super-confident and knowledgeable John Locke (who wouldn't be confident after repeated confirmations that something as special as the Island so very much needs and wants you?) His all-knowing smile, his expressions as he counters whatever Ben has just said, knowing the truth... I really like it, I'll leave it there.

I still think Benry had no idea that Locke was going to be resurrected - and I love it. Freaked-out!Benry is awesome to watch, too :D

Miles ghost-talking and Sawyer punching Jack next week - gonna be fun =) Though, again, where is Daniel?? ::sighs::

Random: my computer's clock is running 3 hours slow... Recently reverted to XP (well, dual-boot); side effect? ::shrugs, does research::
